Colour: Translucent Pearl
An illuminating highlighter with a translucent pearl hue to create healthy, sheer glowing skin by enhancing your own natural beauty, without being sticky, greasy or glittery.
I paid about €37 for my RMS Living Luminizer which I ordered from Naturismo. I wanted a cream highlighter that was not going to make me look like a disco ball from the 80’s and to just be a subtle hint of highlight on my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose and to apply it to the bow of my lips to make them look fuller.
I have some other cream highlighters but they just weren’t doing it for me; even used with the fingers they appear patchy and I wanted something to look even and balanced so I was excited when I came across this product and knew that I had to try it.
When it arrived I was shocked at how small the jar was (pic below). I don’t know what I was expecting when I knew the grams but I guess for the price it cost I expected something bigger and I had not taken into consideration how much 4.25g really is.
The jar itself if glass and the top is metal, much like a miniature jam-jar lid, but it’s fiddly; the first time I closed it after opening it the grooves inside the top didn’t align correctly with those of the jar and it locked into place and it took me ages to unscrew it and it has happened many times even though I am trying to align the grooves. To be honest, this is a hassle I could do without and it’s times like this that I realize packaging really does matter.
So I tested it on my bare face and even without foundation to cover my melasma and imperfections, it look great! It isn’t greasy and gave a lovely glow to my skin without looking out of place considering that I wasn’t made up.
When I did apply my makeup on another occasion, I applied this luminizer and loved the sheen it gave and I just topped it off with some Mary-Lou Manizer highlighting powder by The Balm to give it an extra glowy look.
It lasted throughout the day when I applied it to a bare fare and to a made up face and didn’t slide around or look cakey. It also didn’t accentuate my un-even skin tone or my enlarged pores so this is good. It is buildable and re-applicable so it is very versatile and great for applying to your collar bones, too.

This is what the RMS website says about their products:
RMS Beauty products are formulated with raw, food grade and organic ingredients in their natural state, allowing their living, healing attributes to penetrate and rejuvenate the skin. In their purest form, enzymes, vitamins, antioxidants and their healing properties remain fully intact, encouraging amazing potential for anti-aging effects. RMS Beauty has also taken extreme care in the use of minimal heat in the manufacturing process of this product in order to keep all nutrients and healing properties alive. All RMS Beauty products are free of harmful chemicals, synthetic preservatives, synthetic vitamins, and genetically altered ingredients (GMO) etc. RMS Beauty is full of healing nutrients – nutrients that work synergistically with the skin, and are in harmony with nature and our environment. Each ingredient in RMS Beauty is carefully chosen to create a dialogue with the skin. Your touch activates the life force of the product, and nutrients interact with skin to promote hydration, softness, and luminosity.
And I really love this statements from her:
The life force of the skin interacts with the life force of everything applied to it. Majority of cosmetics are dead. The chemicals they contain have no life force and therefore, cannot interact with the skin. It is the interaction – the synthesis of all ingredients, that creates a truly alive product, and truly alive skin! RMS beauty is about aliveness and pure, life force.
We really are forced to think about what we are putting on our skin when we read statements such as these. I totally agree with her words, but in this world where you need to be a scientist to work out the ingredients in cosmetic products, it is so difficult to know what is good, ok, or bad for our skin. In our drive to find products that make us look prettier and younger, I wonder if the products we use, because of the chemicals, are producing the opposite affect and aging us faster.
I believe that there are many organic, natural and cruelty free skin products that are great and that work but organic and natural makeup that is also great is harder to find. This is just my opinion.
Here are the ingredients:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI77891, Mica CI 77019].
Overall I love the product but hate the packaging and I am debating on what rating to give this product because of the packaging but here it is below:
If the packaging wouldn’t have been so problematic then it would have received a definite 5/5!
