I am a firm believer in spending good money on serums rather than face moisturizers but I also understand the importance of having a good moisturizer as a base for makeup and also to replenish your skin during the day and especially while you sleep.
I use sunscreen in the day while the sun is up and when it goes down, I wash this off and apply my non SPF moisturiser. Having combination skin, my moisturizer is both my night and day moisturizer, so I have to use one that is going nourish, protect and smooth and do its job during my sleep time but which isn’t going to leave my skin feeling like it cant breathe and that it doesn’t turn my face into an oil slick.
Most of the moisturisers I’ve used over the years I’ve been pretty happy with but because I love to try new products I am always looking for something better.
For the past year I’ve been using the Liz Earle Skin Repair™ Moisturiser for Normal/combination skin which I have been purchasing from Boots for £20.25 for 50ml. What first attracted me was the packaging and the colour of the packaging which is mint-green and I love this colour. Green is the colour for healing, nature, renewal, growth, freshness, the environment but also for money and finances and it can also attract money, so the creator knew what they were doing by choosing this colour to represent their skin products.
The consistency of this moisturiser is of a cream, not a fluid, and it sinks comfortably into the skin leaving the skin moisturised but not greasy feeling. I absolutely adore the smell and I am a true sucker for smells; I have to smell everything including the pages of new magazines and new books 😝 I really love a skin product to smell ‘holistic’ and ‘luxurious’ and this moisturizer ticks those boxes. As long as the ingredients that produce the scent does not irritate my skin, then I am all for them!
This Liz Earle product works absolutely great under makeup and it can be used instead of/without a primer as foundation works well with it and stays on a long time. After applying makeup over it, my skin looks smooth, glowy and healthy and of course it gives the same effect worn alone.
