I was currently using a 30 spf every day and under my foundation but I needed to go up to a 50 spf but the 50 spf from the same brand is just too thick to provide an even finish for my makeup. This sunscreen was included in the Obagi starter kit and decided to give this a go and fell in love and so before it ran out, I made sure I ordered another one so that I wouldn’t be without it! I purchased my product from Radiance Skin Care which is a UK based store for £58.95 for an 85g tube and I was very impressed with how quickly my order was processed and how swiftly it arrived in Cyprus along with some free samples which I always appreciate.
This sunscreen is not cheap but which good sunscreens are? I am very serious about protecting my face from the sun and you can see my reviews of other sunscreens by clicking HERE
I can’t compromise on skin protection for the sake of my foundation looking great but yet again, I can’t have cakey looking foundation, either So to ensure I have both protection and good looking foundation, I am willing to pay the price!
The Obagi Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is a lightweight, semi fluid cream that blends over the skin beautifully leaving no white film on the skin nor any oily residue. It gives a radiant appearance to the skin and smooths out the fine lines around my skin so that foundation and concealer doesn’t accentuate them. Foundation glides perfectly over this sunscreen and lasts all day so it’s also great as a primer.
Because I have a very oily T-Zone my skin does need blotting after an hour of applying it and I’ve not noticed that this sunscreen produces more oil than usual under my foundation.
Because of the price I use this only when I am wearing foundation and on non makeup days I use my Apivita 50 spf sunscreen.
This is what Radiance Skin Care has to say about it:
A sunscreen that combines UVA and UVB protection in an elegant matte finish that is non-comedogenic, allergy tested, and dermatologist tested. Sheer, PABA-free, and fragrance-free for all skin types.
